Weekend Boost No. 165
CELEBRATING WHAT MATTERS
In the midst of swirling uncertainties and challenges in our world, there’s something essential I want to remind you of: leaders must pause to celebrate. We need the light of wins — both big and small — to fuel resilience, connection, and meaning in our work. It is one of the many things that helps us to keep going.
So here’s what I’m celebrating this week, and I invite you to join me in marking these moments:
GLOW & Global Digital Health Forum in Nairobi
Former USAID leaders recently organized and secured funding for the Global Women Leaders in Digital Health (GLOW) community to convene alongside the Global Digital Health Forum in Nairobi on December 2. This leadership workshop will support the centering of women leaders in shaping digital health future (AI, data science, health tech). Interested in applying? Here’s the application link. The fight to end child marriage in the U.S.
In the U.S., there are still 319,000 child brides. Unchained at Last is campaigning to ban child marriage nationwide. If we each do our part, we could see a shift this year. (Especially in states like California — there’s work to be done!)Honoring civil rights leadership across sectors
The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law held its 25th annual Higginbotham Leadership Awards Gala, honoring trailblazers like Laurence Fishburne, Kristen Clarke, and youth activist Yolanda Renee King. It’s a reminder that courage, vision, and leadership persist even amid adversity.
THE PRACTICE
Celebrations are not distractions — they are fuel.
Recognizing wins sharpens clarity about what matters and who’s advancing that work.
Celebrations help anchor us in possibility, reminding us we are not working in a vacuum.
What are you celebrating?
